JobScout

Update 2 – May 2013 I’m officially no longer a part of the JobScout or TRAIL team. I’m not really sure about etiquette or propriety as it relates to this sort of thing, so I’ll just leave it here: I have no more input into this project, and any questions about it should be directed to discovertrail.com.

Update: The JobScout iOS App is now available for download from the App Store. It syncs to your JobScout account on myjobscout.org, including your lesson record, your earned badges, your saved job listings and your resume data.

This project is ongoing, and so I’m not going to talk about it in too much technical detail.

Just go to myjobscout.org and sign up for an account. You can see it in action.

The basic premise is that it’s a lesson-taking mechanism with a rewards system built into it. We’re using Badges, since that jibes with the whole Scout framework we’ve built. There are also job search related tools, like a resumé builder and a method for saving and tracking progress on job applications.

I’ve been working on this with Christina, Stephanie and Paul since October of 2011. Josh came onto the team in early 2012, and now we’ve added Mike and Schulyer (pronounced Skyler, in case you were wondering).

It’s probably going to be the biggest thing I have been/will be a part of for a while. Here’s the team during our latest strategic planning session:
